Yeti Race
This project, called Yeti Race, is a simulation of a horse race, but with Yetis. The user bets on a yeti and then a visual representation of the race is created and the winner is displayed.
In order to complete this project, we worked with partners and switched who had control of the computer every 10 minutes. 4 days were given for this project, but my partner and I completed it in 3 days.
Two skills I gained were teamwork/ partner coding and explaining my work. Since one person couldn’t do all the work because we had to switch computers, we had to work together and instruct the team member currently coding what to do. Also, we had to be able to seamlessly switch in between computers when it was time, so we had to know where our partner had left off and where to pick up. Secondly, I needed to be able to explain my logic for this project because my partner and I had to agree on all the changes we made.
I enjoyed being able to work with a partner for the project and, overall, I thought the project was fun. Projects like this will help me in the future because large programs are most often done with big groups of people. The experience of coding with other people and explaining my work will help with these large programs.
